The pueblo is situated 22 km (14 miles), or about 20 minutes from Catamayo, where the Loja airport is located.

 

El Tambo or “Tambo” is approximately an hour's drive from the city of Loja or an hour in a different direction to Vilcabamba.

 

This property is just above town, a short walk to the center square.

 

The breathtaking views are the first thing you'll notice when you visit Tambo.  From the upper portion of the property you'll have stunning panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.  There are sizeable flat areas perfect for building a home that would take advantage of the views.  The highest land on the property has a more rugged, mountainous feel, and can get a bit cooler and windier.

 

Moving from the uppermost flat area down towards town, a number of flat potential building sites blend with the downward slope.  It quickly gets warmer and less windy, with more trees and green areas.  Throughout this part of the property are flat areas that would be lovely home sites.

 

As you reach the bottom of the property (located closest to town), there's a more tropical feel. Here you'll find an abundance of lush growth, more moisture in the air, and a rare, continuously flowing mineral spring.

 

An irrigation canal runs through portions of the property, providing year-round water.

 

The property has good road access and is connected to electrical power.
